What Is Your Personal Wisdom?

Wisdom and knowledge according to the dictionary are synonymous, but are they? I love this gentle, thought-provoking article by Jennifer Chrisman that examines the differences between the two. This difference is something I think many of us inherently understand, but we don’t often reflect upon it.  Chrisman emphasizes that wisdom is much deeper than simply having the knowledge about something. One cannot acquire wisdom from a book. Wisdom comes from living and experiencing what we have knowledge of.  In time this knowledge we have gained from outside sources may prove false or true.  We must decide upon our personal wisdom and what rings true for us. As we share this with others, it can then come from the heart and not from needing to be right or wrong.
