The Healing Power of Trees and Birds

By Jan Schipman

healingpowerI sat under my favorite tree in the back yard today doing a distant Reiki healing with eight dogs and one cat. It was wonderful and beautiful. The energy we all felt for each other and gave to each other was healing in every way. We all connected to our hearts.  We all learned from each other and helped heal what was needed for each of us. I felt peace and comfort during the Reiki healing.  The connection to nature and the tree was strong and powerful.

I love to sit under that fig tree in our yard. The tree is over 30 years old. This tree and I have a beautiful connection. I can feel the strong energy from it just by touching a leaf or branch. My hands tingle, and I feel warm all over. I do Reiki with it often. We sit and connect and heal each other.  It is a comforting and peaceful experience every time we connect. Many times I give the tree a hug, and I can feel its energy hugging me back. This tree still produces delicious figs during the summer months. When they are ripe, we pick them and eat them right then.

Communing with the Birds
There are a group of starlings who live in a saguaro cactus a block away. They love the figs, and I love to sit and watch them as they come by. These birds are comical and very territorial when it comes to one fig. They will fight over it until one starling gets the fig and runs off across the grass with it in his beak. My special tree is always filled with birds eating figs, singing, dancing, and talking to each other.

Besides the starlings, there are sparrows, finches, three different kinds of doves, peach-faced love birds, grackles, mockingbirds, an occasional red-wing hawk, hummingbirds, and many others. It is wonderful to sit out back and watch the birds. I have learned many lessons from them over the years, and they have healed me in many ways. The Angels told me once, “Listen to the birds; they will make you happy.”  I have been listening to and learning from them for years.

The Healing Power of Trees
Trees are grounded to the earth. Their roots go deep while their branches and leaves reach up to the sky drinking in the Sun’s energy. All trees provide homes for many creatures, birds, bugs and other life forms. Without trees we could not breathe.

Trees are sentient beings. We can receive healing from the tree energy for our emotions, physical hurts, and mental problems. We can learn from them how to be grounded and to live in the moment. By being with a tree, we slow down, breathe softer and the stress goes away. Enjoy how the leaves sound as they blow in the wind. Watch them swaying back and forth and then relax. Think of the times you have been in a forest. Remember how relaxed you were. This is the healing power of trees.

Nature Is Cheaper Than Therapy
Take time to sit in nature. Find a tree friend and spend time with it. Feel its energy and love. Feel that beautiful connection of healing energy it has for you. Listen to what the tree has to tell you. Sit and BE still.  Be in the moment…in the NOW. The tree has its own healing power and will help you with what you need at the time. As you are connecting to the tree, notice the birds and listen to them. They will make you happy.  You are going to find that in time you will be connecting to trees and birds. The lessons you will learn from them are going to be healing, peaceful and comforting. You are going to know and feel the healing power of nature.
