Keeping Your Attention On The Desired Outcome

When we have a problem to solve, we tend to focus our attention on the problem itself when instead we should be paying attention to the solution.  In true storyteller fashion, author, Tiela Garnett, shares a challenging kayak trip that served to remind her of this.

As you read this piece, you can feel yourself accompanying Garnett down the rapid river where obstacles appear before her.  The first obstacle, a fallen tree in the middle of the river, proves too much to handle. Garnett learns a hard lesson and decides to change her strategy when the next obstacle appears farther down the river. Garnett has much better luck this second time because  she realizes the importance of visualizing and actually feeling the successful outcome that she wants and not putting all her attention on the problem before her. So read on and enjoy a great story.
